Advocacy
WACIC proudly works on behalf of our members and alongside our partners to advocate for public policies that lower barriers to economic opportunity for historically underserved communities.
National
Many WACIC members are also proudly partnered with Opportunity Finance Network, an organization based in Washington, D.C. that is a leading national network of more than 400 community development financial institutions (CDFIs) nationwide. OFN’s network of community development loan funds, banks, venture capital funds, and credit unions works to ensure communities underserved by mainstream finance have access to affordable, responsible financial products and services.
Washington State
As a coalition based in Washington State, WACIC works with its members to inform public policymaking in Olympia so that laws and rules may be enacted that advance programs and resources for the communities served by CDFIs.
An example of WACIC’s successful advocacy includes the creation of the Equitable Access to Credit Program, created by the 2022 Legislature (HB 1015).
